Contra Costa Medical Career College in Antioch Ca. seeks a Medical Assisting Instructor with a minimum of 3 years experience in the field and preferably and National Certification (which can also be obtained after hire). 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Registered Nurse with at least 3-5 years of experience within the last 5 years working in the clinical setting OR

2. Licensed Vocational Nurse with at least 3-5 years of experience within the last 5 years working in the clinical setting OR

3. Certified Medical Assistant with at least 3-5 years of experience within the las five years; AND

4. A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, learning styles and disabilities.

To teach, direct and supervise student learning experiences in the classroom, skills lab and clinical facilities for a Vocational Nurse Program. Must be able to instruct, support and encourage various types of learners and utilize different and innovative teaching methodologies. The ability to be flexible and work cohesively in a team is required.

Qualifications:  

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in California  
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by California’s Board of Vocational Nursing 

• At least 4 years total of direct patient care, 2 of which are within the last five years 
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification 
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings. 
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 
• Teaching experience preferred

• Associates Degree with a California Teaching Credential (or willingness to obtain such credential prior to employment as an Instructor), or 
• BA/BSN or MSN degree (no California Teaching Credential required but must have a completed course in teaching or willingness to complete such a course prior to employment as an Instructor) 

CCMCC is looking for a part-time Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Instructor. 

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students that meet the program and course objectives.

Use effective speaking, explaining, and questioning techniques.
Use effective methods for delivery of instruction: Lectures, Discussions, Labs, Aids, Handouts, Visuals.
Be available to students through informal meetings and mid-module conferences.

Knowledge and understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled.

• ARRT or ARDMS Certification required.
• A minimum of an AA/AS degree from an accredited college.
