The California State approved Pharmacy Technician program at CCMCC qualifies its students to sit for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination (CPhT), administered by PTCB. More states and employers are requiring certification as reliance on Pharmacy Technicians grows.
Employment of pharmacy technicians is projected to grow 12 percent from 2016 to 2026, faster than the average for all occupations. Increased demand for prescription medications will lead to more demand for pharmaceutical services. *State licensure is a REQUIREMENT for successful completion of this program. A certificate of completion will NOT be issued until California state licensure (registration #) is received. It takes up to 90 days for the California Board of Pharmacy to process applications after the application has been received. Contra Costa Medical Career College will assist you in completing all application requirements prior to submitting your application. California State licensure is REQUIRED for Pharmacy Technician employment in the state of California. An application for licensure will be denied by the Board of Pharmacy if a felony conviction is found on an applicant’s background check.
